The short version: we only ask for your email. We use it to tell you about SMUD, mainly when we launch. We never sell it. You can leave the list anytime.
Who we are
SMUD is a home care brand based in Malaysia. For anything about your data, email us at getsmud@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
- Where you found us, for example which Instagram post or ad sent you. This is saved alongside your email so we know which posts are working.
- Basic, anonymous visit statistics such as page views, which help us improve the site.
How we use it
- To tell you when SMUD launches and to give you first access.
- To send occasional updates: product news, scent reveals and your waitlist gift.
- To understand, in aggregate, how people find us.
We don't sell, rent or trade your details. Ever.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site and send emails, such as our website host (Vercel) and our email provider (Kit). They process your email only on our behalf and only to provide that service. Some of them may store data outside Malaysia. When they do, we choose providers that protect it to a standard comparable to Malaysian law.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we stop running the waitlist, whichever comes first.
Your choices
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can simply email getsmud@gmail.com and we'll sort it out.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we'll tell you by email.
